01 / 27Austin-Healey Sprite Custom Roadster
Specifications
Overview
The 1966 Austin-Healey Sprite is one of the most recognizable lightweight British sports cars of its era, and this thoughtfully modified example transforms that familiar formula into something considerably more distinctive. Finished in bright red with a handcrafted brown interior, the car combines classic roadster proportions with a purposeful, competition-inspired appearance.
The exterior has been stripped back to emphasize the Sprite’s compact shape and mechanical character. The bumpers and exterior badging have been removed, while flared rear wheel arches, widened rear wheels, a lowered stance and a cut-down windscreen give the car a more aggressive profile. A SuperTrapp exhaust completes the presentation with a period-inspired performance appearance and a soundtrack to match.
Inside, the cabin has been reimagined with a custom wood dashboard, Porsche 914 fiberglass seats and carefully selected brown upholstery. The open, minimalist layout remains true to the lightweight spirit of the original Sprite while adding a level of craftsmanship and individuality rarely found in a standard restoration.
Power comes from a 1,098cc inline-four paired with a four-speed manual transmission. The car has also received a fully rewired electrical system, helping improve reliability while retaining its fundamentally analog driving experience. Showing 68,148 indicated miles, this Sprite is best understood as a custom British driver rather than a factory-correct restoration.
Small in size but full of personality, this Austin-Healey offers the opportunity to own a classic roadster with unmistakable character, engaging performance and a configuration unlike anything else on the road.
